Acerca de la enseñanza de la fraseología somática del español a los estudiantes polacos: problemas, soluciones y propuestas didácticas(Universitat Politècnica de València, 2018-12-27) Gwiazdowska, Agnieszka; Lamża, Zuzanna[EN] The aim of this paper is to present the main problems and difficulties encountered when teaching Spanish somatic phraseology to Polish university students. In the first –rather theoretical- part, we will focus on the importance of phraseology in the ELE classroom, that is, we will present the reasons why it is impossible to dispense with this type of units in class. Next, we will explain the concept of phraseodidactics, a relatively new discipline, which has already become an independent field of study, as well as briefly present the main objectives that we intend to achieve with the broader research project (“Somatic Phraseology in Exercises. In Spanish, French, Italian”) that we are currently carrying out at the University of Silesia. In the second part of our work, of an applied nature, we will first focus on formal or structural problems; then we will concentrate on semantic difficulties and, finally, we will focus our attention on the pragmatic aspect of the phraseological units, that is, on their discursive functions. In other words, we will offer specific methodological proposals with interesting didactic implications which, according to our professional experience, best respond to the needs of students who intend to develop their phraseological competence.Item type: Artículo , Access status: Abierto , La enseñanza de ciencias sociales en la clase de educación física en lengua inglesa. Una propuesta didáctica en un contexto bilingüe(Universitat Politècnica de València, 2018-12-27) Ruiz Cordero, María Begoña; Rodríguez Morales, Aníbal[EN] The introduction of bilingual programmes in the classrooms has been, and is, one of the biggest challenges of the Spanish educational system. However, it is difficult for teachers to use the correct methodology that integrates content and foreign language in bilingual schools. It must be borne in mind that it is highly benefitial to create didactic units that integrate English language and other subjects, such as Physical Education, Arts and Crafts or Sciences (Alario and Crespo, 2011). Therefore, aiming at providing an innovative didactic approach, we will introduce a proposal about a procedure which will show that Social Science contents can be achieved in a fun way. In order to do so, a variety of materials as well as unusual spaces, such as the ones in which the Physical Education sessions take place, will be used to teach Social Science through English language.Item type: Artículo , Access status: Abierto , Twitter y fomento lector: dinamizando la lectura en el aula(Universitat Politècnica de València, 2018-12-27) Heredia Ponce, Hugo; Amar Rodríguez, Víctor[EN] Twitter is still one of the social networks that teens now use to communicate with their friends. Faced with this situation, based on the idea that students do not approach reading due to their lack of reading comprehension level or because they are not part of their hobbies, a didactic experience developed in a third classroom of Compulsory Secondary Education is proposed in which, through Twitter, reading is stimulated from the point of view of reading promotion. The results show how the approach of reading through social networks makes the student build his reading habit and, on the other hand, see it as a source of enjoyment.Item type: Artículo , Access status: Abierto , Los entornos virtuales de aprendizaje y la democratización del conocimiento: la formación online de profesores de ELE en la sociedad tecnológica(Universitat Politècnica de València, 2018-12-27) Álvarez Ramos, Eva; Alejaldre Biel, Leyre[EN] The emergence of virtual learning environments (VLE) has led to a clear democratization of knowledge and a more accessible teacher training and retraining. Students decide when and where to learn and, precisely, this autonomy is the key strength of VLE, which advocates students’ emancipation and seeks their independence. In the same way, VLE open the learning experience due to the unlimited contact with other individuals, thoughts and cultures. In this paper we intend to show how the teaching process has been updated by modifying its pedagogical approaches to adapt to the new digital learning environments and how it has been adjusted to new social demands. The goal of this work is to describe how in the last decade there has been a significant increase regarding the number of distance learners and how their age is a variable to be considered in online graduate studies. To finish, we describe the current teacher training panorama in the discipline of Spanish as a foreign language (SFL) to exemplify the concepts presented previously and analyze quantitatively the main benefits and the greatest shortcomings related to virtual training for SFL teachers.Item type: Artículo , Access status: Abierto , La animación a la lectura y la literatura infantil y juvenil a través de proyectos de fomento a la lectura: el caso de Eslovenia(Universitat Politècnica de València, 2018-12-27) Sifrar Kalan, Marjana; Pregelj, Barbara[EN] Children’s and youth literature (CYL) has a great potential for encouraging reading both in mother tongue and foreign language (FL), although its use in a FL classroom is scarce but necessary. This paper presents some projects in which CYL is used together with reading strategies of Montserrat Sarto (1998). The projects have been carried out with Slovenian children in Slovenian as their mother tongue and in Spanish (FL) classes. Meanwhile the reading strategies based on constructivism facilitate personal experience of reading and increase reading competence in both, mother tongue and foreign language, the use of CYL in Spanish (FL) classes increases the degree of authenticity in contact with literature written in Spanish.Item type: Artículo , Access status: Abierto , Los géneros discursivos y las secuencias didácticas: el lugar de los ejemplos prototípicos en la enseñanza y aprendizaje de la escritura(Universitat Politècnica de València, 2018-12-27) Abad Beltrán, Victoria; Rodríguez Gonzalo, Carmen[EN] From a social perspective, the aim of writing teaching is for students to be able to understand and write a great diversity of discursive genres, allowing them to behave as reflexive and critical citizens in different social spheres. In the process of mastery of each genre, the mental representation of the text is key, which acts as a regulating element of writing in different phases. This article shows the difficulties of the students to appropriate a specific genre (a book review), based on the data of a classroom research with students of 3rd ESO that addresses the writing of reviews through a didactic sequence including, as a regulatory element, prototypical examples of the genre. The analysis of process (drafts and interactions) and product (final version of texts) data shows that the teaching and learning of writing takes place in two levels: a level whose objective is to create a mental representation of the text, and another, focussed on enriching the text with specific linguistic resources.Item type: Artículo , Access status: Abierto , Las estrategias de aprendizaje de vocabulario: su relación con el éxito académico(Universitat Politècnica de València, 2018-12-27) Castellano-Risco, Irene[EN] In the fields of Second Language Acquisition, there is a recent trend towards the identification of vocabulary learning strategies. However, the majority of this work has focused on the identification of strategies itself, rather than relating it to vocabulary mastery. This article presents a study on the use of vocabulary learning strategies and their relation to receptive vocabulary size. To do so, seventy secondary-school learners took part in the study. They were asked to respond the 2K version of the Vocabulary Levels Test (Schmitt, Schmitt & Clapham, 2001) and a vocabulary learning strategies questionnaire, adapted from Schmitt’s taxonomy (1997). The data were examined looking into how the use of vocabulary learning strategies related to larger or smaller receptive vocabulary size. Results will have practical implications in language teaching, as, with the identification of those most useful strategies, teachers will be able to foster their use, turning learners’ efforts into a more successful experience.Item type: Artículo , Access status: Abierto , El uso de plataformas moodle en la enseñanza de L2 y desafíos contemporáneos(Universitat Politècnica de València, 2018-12-27) Tatoj, Cecylia; Galan, Beata; Poltorak, Ewa[EN] One of the most cited key aspects of the current world is the dynamic and constant development of information and communication technologies. Their growing influence in various areas of our lives is not unimportant for language education. Given the new opportunities and growing expectations of foreign language students, multimedia tools are becoming an integral part of the language learning process, and their conscious and effective use has become an obvious priority of the teaching of foreign languages. The described in the article characteristics of the moodle e-kerbing platform are an attempt to analyse the possibilities and conditions that the platform creates for the different participants of the glothodidactic process.
