Item type: Artículo , Access status: Abierto , Ciudad, entorno y fotografía en la práctica artística contemporánea(Universitat Politècnica de València, 2013-12-30) Pérez, Elias M.[EN] In a political, economic and social context of crisis, public space has again become a prime location for the collective manifestation of dissent with the power, and the city, scenario of inequality, object and means for reflection and citizenship claim. Artistic practices interpret, document and / or actively participate in this complex scenario, and photography, almost from its origins in the industrial revolution, has been an appropriate way to interpret the reality of cities immersed in constant changes and confrontations. The use of photography by contemporary art practices as a means to interpret the context, as essential companion to the documentary record of ephemeral or new modes of narrative construction proposals, has facilitated the implementation of the historical demand of the entry of photography in the art institutions. On the other hand, photography has marked the development of the specific history of the medium itself.Along with the incomprehensible and available production, at all times and in all places, and the almost obscene visibility from every corner of the planet and its endless biographies, some artists are still working to uncover new aspects and contradictions in the corners of the contemporary city, participating in the collective definition of the public sphere, from positions that challenge not only the contradictions of context, but also the fundamentals of the medium and, of course, the exhibition and dissemination channels.Item type: Artículo , Access status: Abierto , Arquitectura y sinestesia. El ejemplo de la arquitectura islámica(Universitat Politècnica de València, 2013-12-30) Cervilla García, Alejandro; Ruiz Pérez, Juan Antonio[EN] Used normally in poetry, synaesthesia is an artistic device which involves the simultaneous mix of two or more sense impressions. This mix may be real or unreal. For instance, Federico García Lorca mentions in his works the yellow trill of the canary, or the violet voice of a mysterious woman, while Juan Ramón Jiménez talks about a golden silence, an evening of window panes, or a pink caress... Our hypothesis is that in Architecture something similar can happen, and as an example we are going to use the Alhambra in Granada. We will see how the architects who built the Alhambra used synaesthesia intentionally, in order to create illusions or to bring to mind a space which was different to that which had been physically built. In this way, their work acts upon the senses by combining decorative and landscape elements, or by using different materials in an attempt to bring paradise to the earth.Item type: Artículo , Access status: Abierto , Investigación y arte. La investigación y la difusión desde la experiencia estética(Universitat Politècnica de València, 2013-12-30) Díaz Bucero, Jesús; Sánchez Pérez, María Dolores[EN] This article studies how research in Fine Art and the introduction of creativity in academic studies create conflicting ideas and debates that determine how to face phD thesis and research. The origin of these debates and ideas can be found somewhere between what unites the rational and the emotional knowledge. This paper presents our experience, positioning our point of view to show how this issue has been approached in our research. Our work presents a place where research in Fine Art can exist in as a mid point between reason and feeling; it is a mixture of both. We use Chantall Maillard ?s aesthetic reason concepts of knowledge that allows the study of art through the experimentation of art itself. This paper shows the importance given to aesthetic experience in our research from three different points of view. These three points of view are related between them and they depend one on the other. The three points of view are: Communication from aesthetic experience (communicative capacity of art according to the abilities of the viewer); Research from the aesthetic experience (emotion and scientific research can be combined thanks to practical knowledge) and Scientific dissemination from aesthetic experience (dissemination through creation in academic research).Item type: Artículo , Access status: Abierto , La investigación artística a través de la investigación basada en las artes: narrando una historia, compartiendo experiencias(Universitat Politècnica de València, 2013-12-30) de Miguel Álvarez, Laura[EN] When we do the speech which presents artistic research work, usually we do it using literary and graphics resources that presents the content of pragmatic form. The Artistic Research, where the artist reveals his process (in all dimensions of his life), does not lend itself embedded in a standardized format, for it the artist-researcher will assume his creative capacitate for design a speech that doesn t only presents the research, but it also as in each line, image, tab. This papper, made a continuation of this creative inertia and work a narrative of experience in literary form (tell a story). In it, tells the problems that suffered by the author to give a "packaging" ideal representation for Art Research, through the IBA.Item type: Artículo , Access status: Abierto , Usos didácticos de la literatura de viajes. El conocimiento del patrimonio y de la evolución de las ideas estéticas con los grabados de Gustave Doré y el Voyage en Espagne de Charles Davillier como recurso(Universitat Politècnica de València, 2013-12-30) Salido López, Pedro Victorio[EN] As it is widely known, according to the Organic Law of Education 2/2006, 3rd of May, the so-called basic competences were included in the curriculum. One of these new elements focuses on the cultural and artistic field and therefore, it is closely related to the area we are dealing with, but also connected with the rest of curricular teachings. Its aim is to encourage our students to feel closer and appreciate several cultural manifestations, as well as to be aware of the changes experienced in art due to the evolution of aesthetic ideas. It is not necessary to remark that from the teaching point of view, it is essential to provide the future professionals of education with appropriate material to develop this competence in the classroom. In this particular area, and taking into consideration this didactic aim, we will focus on the essay about Spain by Charles Davillier as well as his colleague Gustave Doré's engravings.Item type: Artículo , Access status: Abierto , La formación artística desde el museo, conocimiento y conservación de las obras de arte contemporáneo(Universitat Politècnica de València, 2013-12-30) Bellido Márquez, María del Carmen; Casablanca Migueles, Luis; Hernández Manzano, César David; Martínez Villa, Antonio; Montiano Benítez, Balbino[EN] This research is based on the hypothesis of wanting to increase methodology research in teaching university art and in diffusion programmes of museums. More specifically, to give out of the graphic works of José Guerrero to children, through a creative and practical method, from their cultural and artistic education, transferining the power of the communication ideas, feelings and emotions that have graphic works contemporary, in order to transfer them the commitment of their conservation. The material used is twenty graphic works that has the collection of Centro José Guerrero in Granada, which are studied and transformed in coloring pages, to be used during the diffusion programmes to the children. The work is done by digital methods, with which the children can to colour the pictures by Guerrero on a screen, using a drawing program, like a game. The results show the design of activities and the drawings in which the graphic work by Guerrero suffers transformations and generates new elements of communication (Antunez, 2008), materials that make knowledge sharing and creativity. The conclusions are derived to be able to convert the graphic work by José Guerrero in element of transmission of new ideas and feelings through creative experiences, thanks to the use of a dynamic language and a graphic expression adapted to new teaching methodologies, making visitors (children) know the works by Guerrero and appreciate the need for knowledge of them and its conservation.Item type: Artículo , Access status: Abierto , Del dicho al hecho hay mucho trecho. Reflexiones sobre el estado del arte en nuestra educación(Universitat Politècnica de València, 2013-12-30) Perez-Martin, Fernando[EN] If educating is an art, what are we doing with art in education? Is art the black sheep of the family? Are art teachings undervalued? Why is it that while politicians and those in charge of educational matters speak so proudly of creativity , but yet they have very little interest and more often than not do not provide the means for its development? Does the possibility of a more artistic and creative education exist? This article provides a reflection concerning these issues and an invitation for debate. It does not pretend to be a manifesto, neither an antidote to the problem, but it does have the purpose of learning more about the topic, generating questions and looking for answers. For this purpose we will review some arguments made by specialists in this area in previous years as well as some opinions from different university professors of Visual Arts. These opinions came about by several conversations we had in 2012. The article will conclude with a reflection on our responsibility and the confidence that a more creative education in possible.Item type: Editorial , Access status: Abierto ,
