During the last decade, the audiovisual communication market has made clear
the need for audiovisual technology that allows the holding of great events,
improves the reputation of organizations and companies, brings actions carried out in unusual places closer to the public, helps with the establishment of brands and makes it easier to deliver messages in the form of advertising with a deep impact. This need has encouraged the research and development of technologies allowing the use of new audiovisual media suitable for environments that are increasingly astonishing and closer to the general public.
This project shows the existing audiovisual technology currently applicable to
outdoor events and increasingly used due to its growing importance, great impact and economic repercussions. Specifically, this dissertation is focused on a cultural event called VIVA EUROPA, consisting of the simultaneous broadcast of an opera performed live at the Palau de les Arts Reina Sofía in Valencia and shown on big screens in every European city joining the project to be enjoyed by their citizens free of charge in order to promote European coexistence through an artistic and cultural display of great significance and profoundly European roots. The following are the specific objectives of the design of an audiovisual infrastructure required in a particular location in the city of Valencia, involving satellite broadcasting (DVB-S), video projection and audio reinforcement:
- Study of the different existing technologies
- Description of the technology applied to the project
- Definition of the criteria for the selection of the required equipment already
existing in the market
- Knowledge of implementation costs
- Evaluation of the interaction between the activity in operation and its
environment.
The result was successful implementation, as shown by this project.
