DE LO PROYECTADO A LO CONSTRUIDO. EL MERCADO CENTRAL DE VALENCIA

Abstract

[EN] This research article is centred on the investigation of changes which occurred between the original 1910- 1914 design of the Central Market in Valencia and its eventual construction in 1928. Information that was not previously documented has come to light through the work carried out during this investigation, concerning the basement of the main floor of the market, the main façade, the old pavilion of the Deputy Mayor, the administration pavilion, the inner curve of the dome and the outside stalls. There can be little doubt that the replacement of architects involved in the management of the Project in 1916 and new demands from the owners were behind these changes.

[ES] El ámbito de estudio que contempla este artículo de investigación, se enmarca en el conocimiento de los cambios producidos entre el proyecto original del Mercado Central de 1910- 1914 y su realización, finalizada en 1928. Fruto de este trabajo ven la luz datos no documentados hasta el momento, afectando al sótano de la planta general de mercado, la fachada principal, el pabellón de la antigua tenencia de alcaldía, el pabellón de administración, el intradós de la cubierta y los puestos exteriores del mercado. No cabe duda que el cambio de arquitectos en la dirección facultativa en 1916, y las nuevas peticiones de la propiedad fueron los artífices de dichos cambios.
