Dimonis, el fotolibro como herramienta para preservar la cultura

Abstract

[ES] Este Trabajo de Fin de Grado (TFG) se centra en la creación de un fotolibro que registra la tradición del correfoc y la figura de los dimonis en la Comunidad Valenciana en concreto en el barrio de Campanar de la ciudad de Valencia. Inspirado en los trabajos de fotógrafos como Cristina García Rodero y Cristóbal Hara, este proyecto busca capturar la esencia de estas festividades populares, caracterizadas por el uso del fuego, la pirotecnia y la presencia emblemática de los dimonis. El proceso de creación se desarrolla en varias etapas: ideación, preproducción, fotografía, selección de material, edición final, impresión y exposición. En este TFG también se pondrá en antecedentes tanto los orígenes de los correfocs como una aproximación al formato fotolibro y los referentes en los que nos basamos; generando así una visión integral del trabajo realizado. Este proyecto artístico pretende ofrecer un aporte significativo tanto a nivel académico como técnico, demostrando la capacidad de integrar investigación cultural con la práctica fotográfica profesional. Asimismo, se aspira a generar un recurso valioso para futuros estudios y proyectos relacionados con la producción de fotolibros o fanzines que se trabajan dentro de un colectivo como trabajo común entre varios artistas, creando con ello una guía de trabajo basada en la experiencia de un proyecto.

[EN] This Degree Final Dissertation (DFD) focuses on the creation of a photobook that registers the tradition of correfoc and the figure of the dimonis in the Valencian Community. Inspired on the works of photographers such as Cristina García Rodero and Cristóbal Hara, this project aims to capture the essence of this traditional celebrations, characterised by the use of fire, fireworks and the emblematic presence of the dimonis. The process of creation was mainly developed in two stages: ideation, preproduction, photography, choice of materials, final edition, printing and exposition. This DFD will also establish some precedents such as the history of correfocs, the origin of photobooks and the artistic references that we resorted to, aiming this way to generate an integral vision of the artistic work produced. This artistic project attempts to offer a significative contribution within both academic and technical fields, showcasing the ability to integrate cultural research with professional photography. At the same time, this project also aims to generate a valuable resource for future studies and projects related to the creation of photobooks and fanzines that are created as a collaborative task between various artists, creating this way a guidance based on a previously completed project.
