| es_ES |
dc.description.abstract | [EN] In the model for inclusive education under scrutiny, the teacher is the key factor. his/her conviction that the engaging of the student with visual disabilities is possible in the school context becomes a cornerstone, since the presence of a blind or a heavily visually impaired student will force the teacher to commit to significant changes in his/her pedagogic and organizational approach. this research work aims at grounding the feasibility of an all inclusive education for visually impaired students taking the music classroom as a case in point. both schools and conservatories are targeted and the curriculum adaptations needed are complemented by resources aimed at optimizing the inclusion. The study first builds a model for inclusive education based on over 25 years of research and modeling focused on the integration of students with visual disability in the spanish context. lessons are learned from the experience of infant, basic and secondary education institutions where the mainstreaming of an inclusive approach was the result of the work of the specific educational service teams of the national blind people association (once). this work has however not been yet transferred in musical education centres, such as music schools and conservatories. In the model for inclusive education under scrutiny, the teacher is the key factor. his/her conviction that the engaging of the student with visual disabilities is possible in the school context becomes a cornerstone, since the presence of a blind or a heavily visually impaired student will force the teacher to commit to significant changes in his/her pedagogic and organizational approach. this work takes into account different curricular specificity levels ¿ from a teaching project to the classroom daily planning ¿ where the adaptation for blind or visually impaired students needs to take place for an effective all inclusive education to actually exist. a brief sample of the musical writing method, the braille signography, is included in the project. The initial hypothesis is that the current theoretical framework has reached maturity and can lead us to a fully inclusive musical education. however, no thorough implementation has been developed which allows for visually impaired students to take full advantage of the potential benefits of models and languages in their daily life. this research works aims at contributing to this situation by designing a curriculum adaptation which may render profitable in the teaching of music, both at schools and conservatoires, by mainstreaming resources that enhance an all inclusive environment for visually impaired students | es_ES |
