Motel construction project in Halmstad

Abstract

[EN] Academic exchanges. School of Business and Engineering in Hógskolan I Halmstad, Halmstad (Sweden). The designed building is a motel, not a fancy hotel, just a place where the people can stay and pass a comfortable night. This idea comes from the location of the plot, really close to the train central station (around 200 meters) and to the Port of Halmstad (800-1000m). This motel has been designed with:48 rooms with their respective bathrooms, hall and corridors, stairs and lift, reception, office, room for employees with its own bathroom, cafe hall with tables, couches and TV, 2 toilets, next to the reception desk, cleaning room and Storage room, to keep all the cleaning stuff, engine room, 2 emergency steel staircases. All the rooms for guests in the building are quite similar. I decided not to include a bar or restaurant because there is a restaurant called PÁ GAFFELN AB only 2 minutes walk from the motel. Also a car park will be built with 88 spots, enough for all the guests who could be at the same time in this motel. But this project is focused in the building. The façade will be made of bricks, this way the building will have an appearance similar to the surrounding buildings. The building has been designed in accordance with the buildings regulations of Halmstad that City Hall's Architect told us, and according with Boverket's mandatory provisions and general recommendations on the application of European construction standards (Eurocodes). All of this is shown in the point 5.Boverket of this project. Finally, disable people will be able to access to any room, because the whole building complies with the accessibility standards.

El edificio diseñado es un motel, no un hotel de lujo, es, por tanto, simplemente un lugar donde la gente puede quedarse y pasar una noche agradable. La idea proviene de la ubicación de la parcela, muy cercana a la estación central de ferrocarril (unos 200 metros) y al puerto de Halmstad (800-1000m). El motel ha sido diseñado con 48 habitaciones con sus respectivos baños, vestíbulo y pasillos, escaleras y ascensor, recepción, oficinas, habitaciones de los empleados con su propio cuarto de baño, salón cafetería con mesas, sofás y TV, 2 baños, junto a la recepción, sala de limpieza y trastero, para guardar todo el material de limpieza, sala de máquinas, 2 escaleras de emergencia de acero. Todas las habitaciones para huéspedes del edificio son bastante similares. Se toma la decisión de no incluir un bar o restaurante porque hay un restaurante llamado PÁ GAFFELN AB a sólo 2 minutos a pie del motel. También se diseña un aparcamiento con 88 plazas, suficientes para el máximo de huéspedes que puede albergar el motel. No obstante, este proyecto se centra en el edificio. A este respecto, la fachada estará hecha de ladrillos para que el edificio tenga una apariencia similar a los edificios circundantes. El edificio ha sido diseñado de acuerdo con las reglamentaciones sobre construcción vigentes en Halmstad tal como recomendó el arquitecto municipal, y de acuerdo con las disposiciones obligatorias de Boverket y las recomendaciones generales sobre la aplicación de las normas europeas de construcción (Eurocódigos). Todo esto se muestra en el punto 5.Boverket de este proyecto. Por último, las personas discapacitadas podrán acceder a todas las habitaciones porque todo el edificio cumple con los estándares de accesibilidad.
