Relaciones entre cine y videoclip a través de sus directores

Abstract

Son muchos los directores cinematográficos que, a lo largo de su carrera, se han dedicado a la realización de vídeos musicales. Algunos comienzan en el videoclip y terminan trabajando en el cine y otros, ya reconocidos como cineastas, deciden llevar a cabo alguna de estas producciones musicales. En unos casos aprovechan para romper con lo que han hecho hasta ese momento y en otros mantienen su estilo de forma reconocible. La finalidad de este trabajo es identificar a esos autores y hallar las relaciones entre su producción cinematográfica y sus videoclips. El análisis, que afectará a las temáticas y recursos empleados y a la influencia de un género sobre el otro, se centrará en la obra de dos directores que han trabajado en ambas disciplinas: Michel Gondry y David Lynch.

There are a lot of film directors who, along their careers, have worked in music video. Some of them start with clips and end up working in cinema and some others, already renowned as filmmakers, decide to make an attempt with these musical productions. Sometimes they take advantage to break away from their hitherto work and other times they keep their style recognisably. The aim of this work is to identify those authors and find connections between their movie production and their music videos. The analysis, concerning employed topics and resources and the influence of a genre on the other, will be focused on the work of two directors who have worked in both disciplines: Michel Gondry and David Lynch.
