Adecuación de local en el entorno BIC del Palacio de los Catalá de Valeriola

Abstract

[ES] El local donde se plantea instalar la librería de la Generalitat , está ubicado en los bajos del edificio perteneciente al complejo del Palacio Catalá de Valeriola recayente a la C/ Navellos y construido entre los años 1700 y 1730. Para llegar al estado inicial del local, de donde partiremos para realizar el proyecto que se plantea, deben realizarse diversos trabajos previos tendentes a recuperar la volumetría original del inmueble eliminando tabiques y falseados que ocultan los paramentos antiguos (muros y bóvedas) consiguiendo con ello recuperar sus dimensiones primigenias. Posteriormente, con los elementos originales a la vista se evaluará el posible deterioro de los mismos para tomar las medidas necesarias. Asimismo al tratarse de un Bien de Interés Cultural, se procederá a realizar el estudio arqueológico de los muros. para su aprobación por la Consellería de Cultura, condición previa e indispensable, para la obtención de la licencia municipal para la realización de las obras de acondicionamiento del local para la instalación de la librería de la Generalitat. El acondicionamiento del local se basará fundamentalmente en actuaciones sobre los revestimientos, distribución, carpinterías; exterior e interior, instalaciones; eléctrica, de saneamiento, de fontanería, de climatización y seguridad. Sobre dicho inmueble, se ha desarrollado un detallado y minucioso estudio histórico, en el que se ha recopilado toda la información posible para arrojar algo de luz sobre su estado y usos originales. La necesidad de conocer el origen y evolución del mismo también ha servido para llevar a cabo una propuesta de intervención que le otorgase una nueva y distinta utilidad a la función de vivienda de criados, para la que sirvió durante siglos. Asimismo, el conocimiento de la morfología y las técnicas constructivas con las que se erigió y transformó el inmueble en el pasado, han servido de base para devolverle en cierta manera, las vetustas características perdidas. La propuesta de uso como librería institucional servirá para ayudar a la revitalización comercial y turística del barrio, dotando al edificio de una nueva funcionalidad al servicio de los ciudadanos de Valencia. Con la realización del presente Trabajo se pretende concienciar que, la necesidad de tener conocimientos sobre el pasado de un edificio histórico, antes de actuar sobre él, es muy importante para devolverle su valor y significado. Del mismo modo, se quiere justificar que la aplicación de usos compatibles sobre este Patrimonio es beneficioso, tanto para los ciudadanos como para las propias instituciones, demostrando asi que añadir nuevas funcionalidades contribuye a ser respetados y no caer en el olvido.

On this property, a detailed and detailed historical study has been developed, in which all the possible information has been gathered to shed some light on its state and original uses. The need to know the origin and evolution of the same has also served to carry out a proposal of intervention that gives a new and different utility to the servant housing function, for which it served for centuries. Likewise, the knowledge of the morphology and the constructive techniques with which the building was erected and transformed in the past, have served as a base to restore to a certain way the old lost characteristics. The proposed use as an institutional bookstore will serve to help the commercial and tourist revitalization of the neighborhood, giving the building a new functionality at the service of the citizens of Valencia. With the realization of the present work is intended to raise awareness that the need to have knowledge about the past of a historic building, before acting on it, is very important to give back its value and meaning. In the same way, we want to justify that the application of compatible uses on this Heritage is beneficial, both for citizens and for the institutions themselves, thus proving that adding new functionalities contributes to being respected and not to be forgotten.
