[EN] This End-of-Degree Project deals with the development and application of an algorithm that allows to
adjust the different constants of the engine of an existing direct injection diesel combustion
computational model, as well as to adjust other internal constants of the model. It is intended that
these constants finally obtained achieve an adjustment as good as possible between the data
predicted by the model and the obtained experimentally.
This procedure of adjustment of the constants of the model is known as characterization.
Throughout the project are presented the mechanisms developed for the characterization of the
model so much in motoring, i.e. without introducing in the engine any amount of fuel, as in
combustion, adjusting in combustion the mixing model, the delay time and the pre-mixed
combustion.
The core of the generated algorithm focuses on the application of genetic algorithms to obtain
optimal functions. In addition, it focuses on an optimization of resources by the computer that
executes the algorithm, with the purpose of: obtaining better results, in a shorter time and improving
what was obtained previously by another algorithm already developed by CMT.
For the corroboration of the correct results of the algorithm generated, these are compared with
those of two engines previously characterized by CMT through an algorithm developed anteriorly
obtaining a notable reduction of the error between the experimental data and the modeling,
especially in the results of the adjustment of the combustion engine
