    [EN] We present a physical model for the teaching of some basic concepts of fluid mechanics at the high school level (fourth course of E.S.O. in the Spanish academic system). The model consists of a plastic bottle with some added elements that intends to reproduce in a small scale the stability properties and the movement of a ship. A solar cell provides the energy for a little motor that move the engine. This practice was developed with a group of students and won the price Experimenta 2008 of the Universidad de Valencia (Spain).

    [EN] In this work we present an easy didactic model for the description of the movement of a liquid less dense than the water on the sea. The problem has been designed from a multi-level point of view, in order to use it as a tool for the teaching of several fundamental concepts of physics and mathematics at the university, or even in the last course of the high school.

    [ES] En este documento se expone un ejercicio de modelización matemática que se propone a alumnos de ingeniería de telecomunicaciones durante el primer curso, en la asignatura de ´algebra lineal. Aunque la modelización matemática hace referencia generalmente a la construcción de modelos que ayudan a realizar predicciones o a explicar fenómenos complejos, en este caso debe interpretarse como una herramienta docente que permite llevar a la práctica con los estudiantes una actividad organizativa y estructurada mediante la cual se utilizan conocimientos previamente adquiridos para descubrir regularidades y relaciones en situaciones pertenecientes al mundo real.

    [EN] The present work describes and it analyzes an experience of mathematical modelling that well could be developed in the classroom with students of secondary. The different stages of the process of followed modelling are described in the article. In their analysis some strategies are pointed out for the elaboration of the pattern with different focuses and that it drives us to the solution of the outlined problem: problem that we have denominated Problem of Dobogókó.
