Material multimedia como método de autoaprendizaje de la auscultación respiratoria

Abstract

[EN] During the 2020-2021 academic year, we designed some multimedia material to explain respiratory auscultation adapted to the first year of the Physiotherapy Degree. To assess both the subjective and objective impacts, that this material could have on our students, we collected their opinion by means of a survey and analysed the grade by means of a miniexam. The results of the surveys showed that the grade given to the multimedia material by the students was high. On the other hand, the results of the mini-exam showed that the percentage of correct answers was higher than those of errors or blank answers. Therefore, we conclude that the multimedia material has had a positive impact on self-learning. In addition, we analysed the results by groups, observing differences between them, probably due to the profile of the students, and we asked them how the material could have been improved. In conclusion, as teachers, we advocate the elaboration of these multimedia materials to support teaching, although we consider that they cannot be a substitute for classroom teaching, especially if they include a practical procedure with an important sensory part, such as respiratory auscultation.

[ES] Durante el curso 2020-2021 diseñamos un material multimedia para explicar la auscultación respiratoria adaptado al nivel de primer curso de Grado de Fisioterapia. Para valorar el impacto, tanto subjetivo como objetivo, que este material podía tener en nuestro estudiantado, recogimos su opinión mediante una encuesta y analizamos la calificación mediante un mini-examen. El resultado de las encuestas mostró que la nota que el estudiantado le otorgaba al material multimedia era de notable alto. Por otra parte, los resultados del mini-examen reflejaban más porcentajes de aciertos que de errores o respuestas en blanco. Por todo ello, concluimos que el material multimedia ha tenido una repercusión positiva en el autoaprendizaje. Además, analizamos los resultados por grupos observando diferencias entre ellos, probablemente debidas al perfil del alumnado y les preguntamos cómo se podría haber mejorado el material. En conclusión, como docentes, somos partidarios de crear estos materiales multimedia como apoyo a la docencia, aunque consideramos que no pueden ser sustitutos de la presencialidad, especialmente si en ellos hay un procedimiento práctico, con una carga sensorial elevada, como es la auscultación respiratoria.
